Our fresh new packaging is here! We're excited to introduce new packaging designs and bar shapes for the very same solid formulations that you know and love. We’ve been busy little bees here at Ethique HQ, working hard to revamp our signature colourful packaging to make it easier than ever to shop our range of plastic-free goodies. We've compiled a list of the most asked questions behind the big change and hope you love the new change as much a we do.

How do I choose a bar?
Why do I seem to be going through my bars quickly?
Don’t hold the bar under water, or leave it wet or in pooled water, it will dissolve much faster, you only need a little amount of the product.
Do you use preservatives?
Most of our bars don’t need preservatives as they don’t support microbial life, due to a lack of free water. Those bars that do need preserving contain a very small concentration of benzyl alcohol and dehydroacetic acid. This is a very safe preservation system based on natural sources and prevents fungal and bacterial contamination of products (which trust us, is much worse than a preservative is!)
Will your shampoo bars strip my hair colour?
Our bars are pH balanced, so whilst they won’t strip the colour anymore than liquid shampoo, it will not prolong any colour you may have in your hair. If you require toner, we recommend that you still use a toner in your hair. We are currently working on one, so watch this space…
Do we offer free minis?
Yep, we're just as excited as you are about these! We LOVE being able to provide a free product to each order and give you the opportunity to test out different products or provide a free travel sized mini for you.
We change the products each month, however please note free mini samples are subject to availability, and the actual product received may differ from that advertised, these may change without notice.

Will I be charged foreign transaction fee when ordering?
Yes, it's possible you may be charged a Foreign Transaction Fee (also known as a International Purchase Transaction Fee) by your bank if you're shopping outside New Zealand - this charge comes directly from your bank and is outside of our control.
We can't guarantee that when you place your order you will or won't be charged a fee. However, we've found that customers who shop with us in their own local currency seem to be less likely to be charged bank fees, specifically, currency conversion fee.
We're working behind the scenes to look at ways to reduce the likelihood of being charged international transaction fees.
We're always improving and are looking to offer some new payment methods over the coming months, as well as improving our existing ones. We hope this will reduce the impact and any costs of these charges.
Until that time, when you shop with us here at Ethique - we'd suggest contacting your bank to check if they charge for international payments or not.
How do you package your products?
We ship from our New Zealand warehouse in plastic-free, compostable packaging including paper tape, cardboard boxes and paper filler.
Can I make changes to my order?
Once your order has been placed, please note that due to our system set up, we are unable to make any changes to orders. Thank you for your understanding in this.
How do loyalty rewards work?
For every dollar spent on Ethique products (excluding gift vouchers and shipping) you will receive 1 point. When you have 100 points you are eligible to claim a $10 voucher to spend in our online store. Points can only be accumulated and rewards redeemed for orders made on ethique.co.uk.
Why aren't my rewards showing?
Points can only be generated for an active account. If you checkout as guest, or don't activate your account, points will not show. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org if you believe points are missing.

Yes, we do! We’re proud to say that each year we donate 2% of sales to charities around the world as part of our bid to create a better, kinder world.
