DIY Gingerbread body polish

DIY Gingerbread body polish

Whether you’re up for a bit of self-pampering, or are after a fun DIY gift, look no further than this easy Gingerbread body polish. Using sugar as a natural exfoliator and coconut oil to nourish and soften skin, this delicious body scrub with ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla is (literally) good enough to eat.

We recommend using an eggbeater or electric mixer for a fluffy, whipped texture – but this certainly isn’t essential! The sugar scrub works just as well as it is 😊

Ingredients:

  • 200g of sugar
    • White sugar is the scrubbiest, caster sugar is less abrasive, and brown sugar is the gentlest exfoliator. Adjust the amount of each sugar type depending on how exfoliating you want the polish to be. I like using ½ white sugar and ½ brown sugar for a good in-between.
  • 150g of coconut oil
  • 10g of baking soda
  • 10g of ground ginger
  • 10g of ground cinnamon
  • 2g of ground nutmeg
  • 5g of vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Place the coconut oil, sugar, and baking soda into a bowl and whip until fluffy, or stir until well-mixed.
  2. Add the spices and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until well combined.
  3. Pop your sugar scrub into labelled jars. Scrub away!

Do ensure you’re dipping into the jar with clean, dry hands. We recommend using these up within a month, or they can be stored in the fridge for longer.

The oils in this yummy body polish could make your shower or bath slippery, so be careful.

Happy scrubbing!
